Remus Uomo is an independent men’s clothing brand. While the brand first became renowned for its formalwear, today its collections weave together a complete wardrobe of sharp modern tailoring and well-made, understated clothing.
Brothers Adam and Michael Finlay represent the creative soul of the brand. Inspired by their family's obsession with quality, craft and tailoring, they are on a mission to make it easier for men everywhere to dress well, no matter what the occasion.
We come from a family of drapers that have taken an original passion for Italian tailoring and carried it forward 100 years but most uniquely our home is not in the fashion houses of France or Italy, it's in Northern Ireland. More precisely, it's Belfast.
A little known fact is that Belfast was the linen capital of the world in the 1930s, known as 'Linenopolis'. That's where our story began, with our Grandad Dixie, working as a draper in the heart of the linen district. Travelling back and forth to factories across Italy to source fabrics, he discovered what tailoring could be and brought that knowledge back home. IN doing so, he opened the door for the next two generations to follow.
Our families love for Italian tailoring is what inspired the name. BROTHERHOOD is an anchoring ethos of Remus Uomo. Through it we celebrate the values of belonging, strength, resilience and fortitude, they are the cornerstone of who we are. Our name is inspired by the founders of Rome and always serve as a friendly reminder of the powers and challenges of brotherhood.
